The Floating Islands of the Uros have been and are the most famous of Lake Titicaca and are located 6 km from the port of Puno.

In this tour to the floating islands of the Uros you will see a set of artificial surfaces that were built of totora, an aquatic plant that grows on the surface of Lake Titicaca and at the same time is a very important resource for the life of the Uros, because with it they build their islands, make their transport (called rafts) and use it as firewood for their kitchens, also fulfilling the function of fuel.

BOOK A TOUR

We will start the tour by picking you up from your hotel and then transfer to the main port, where we will board a motorboat to go to the Floating Islands of the Uros.

After 25 or 30 minutes, we will disembark on the first island, which has been built by its own inhabitants, will explain about the activities they perform, history, culture and construction of floating islands based on totora reeds, also where you can buy some souvenirs made by the inhabitants. Then we will go to the second island, called the main island of the Uros, where there is a small handicraft market and grocery stores.

Between these 2 islands the families will offer you a small ride on the totora reed boats and take some pictures (optional).

        You are free to choose the departure and arrival times as well as the way in which the service will be executed. The times shown in the itinerary are the times we recommend for this tour.
