Chucuito, also known as the city of the royal boxes, is located 18 km from the city of Puno on the road from Puno to Bolivia on the shores of Lake Titicaca. This place contains several attractions such as the temple of fertility or also called Inca Uyo, Church of the Assumption, Santo Domingo Chucuito Church, the viewpoint of Chucuito, fish farming, totora reed museum, among others.

The "Inca Uyo" or temple of fertility, is a rectangular-shaped Inca ceremonial complex containing phallic monuments (penises), a place where sacred rituals of payment to the Pachamama (Andean fertility) and sun worship are performed, as well as being used as an astronomical observatory.

Arrival at the Temple of Fertility

We will arrive at the town of Chucuito and visit the Temple of Fertility or also called Inca Uyo, place where there are phallic monuments and sacred rituals of payment to the Pachamama (Andean fertility), and the Santo Domingo and Asuncion Churches.

We will also visit the viewpoint of Chucuito, which is ideal to appreciate the beautiful views of Lake Titicaca.

At the same time we can optionally visit the Psiculture of Chucuito and the Museum of the totora reed. The Psicultura is a center dedicated to the commercialization and production of trout, where you can observe the process of trout development, this place has the purpose of repopulating the species in Lake Titicaca because it was in the process of extinction. In the museum of Totora, 20 minutes from Puno, you can see rafts made of totora reeds and many other works made from this material.
