The Sillar Route is a route full of culture and history that goes through the quarries of sillar and culebrillas. We will be able to see why Arequipa is known as "The white city", how and since when this volcanic stone is used in Arequipa in the construction of houses, churches and homes.

We will go to your hotel in Arequipa from 8:30 to 9:00 in the morning approximately (this is the recommended time, these schedules can be totally modified to your convenience), in this lapse of time in case of shared service we will go to pick you up at your hotels respectively.

We will start with our tour

We begin our journey to the Sillar Route, the tour is accompanied by visits to magnificent natural scenery whose geological formation is also due to this precious rock. The first stop we will arrive in a period of time of 30 to 45 minutes approximately and it will be in the Quarries of Sillar. You will be able to appreciate this great canyon, the guide will narrate about the history of this brilliant stone called sillar and will expose the carvings and sculptures that are found in this place. An outstanding fragment that we will contemplate in this route will be the carving of the Church of the Company of Jesus.

Then we will go towards the Quebrada de Culebrillas, at this point we will make a short walk of approximately twenty minutes, as we go deeper the walls of this small canyon will become bigger and bigger, the height of these walls can vary from 15 to 20 meters, returning we will appreciate the apachetas that are a mound of stones in conical form that represents gratitude to nature.

We will start our return to Arequipa city center.
