This is an ecosystem of great international importance because it is home to a great variety of wildlife, including native and migratory birds, South American camelids, a diverse high Andean flora and above all a spectacular view of the Salinas Lagoon and the great surrounding mountains such as the Ubinas volcano and Pichu Pichu.

What time of the year can I see the water mirrors in Salinas?

The season for you to appreciate the water mirrors is between January and March, due to the rainy season in the region; the rest of the year from April to December, we will visit the salt extraction areas, in both seasons we can take the most creative photos we can think of.

Yes, this tour can be done with children and seniors, of course with the proper care.

What are the Lojen hot springs like?

These waters normally have an average temperature, the water is lukewarm, when leaving the hot springs it is advisable to wear warm clothes, since the cold is felt more.

CONDITIONS

  • Free cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Prices are not valid on long holidays (Christmas, New Year, Easter, national holidays), to these dates are added a percentage.
  • To confirm your reservation, a 50% advance payment of the service is required.
  • If an invoice is required, the IGV 18% is not included in the price.
  • The tours are in shared and private service depending on how you contracted.

In this 1 day tour we will visit the Salinas Lagoon, which in the rainy season forms a fabulous water mirror, the Huito salt flat, where you can take amazing pictures.

You will be able to enjoy the Salinas Lagoon from the comfort of an SUV, Sedan, Minivan or Van.

The Salinas Lagoon is located in the department of Arequipa and is within the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca. It has an extension of 354 hectares where nature is present at all times, being a real spectacle for visitors.

We pick you up at your hotel

From 6:00 to 6:30 we pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and start our trip to the Salinas Lagoon at 4,300 m.a.s.l. between the Misti, Ubinas and Pichupichu volcanoes, making several stops along the way.

07:30 H.

Town of Chiguata

We will make our first stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes in the district of Chiguata where you will be able to take many pictures.

Afterwards we will be arriving to the village of Chiguata where you can have breakfast in the area.

After about an hour we will make another stop at Alto Simbral to see an Andean forest formed by small trees and bushes, the forest of Queñoales and Yaretales of the Pichupichu volcano.

10:00 H.

Salinas Lagoon

Finally we will arrive at Laguna de Salinas, a shallow water salt flat where we will be able to see flamingos and water mirrors during the rainy season (January to March), and animals such as llamas and vicuñas all year round. And if it is dry, it will welcome us with a snow-white color. In the dry season (April to December) we will visit the salt extraction centers, where we can learn about this process and of course with the time to take all the pictures you want.

Lojen mini-volcano and hot springs

Then we will go to the Lojen mini-volcano and the hot springs of the same name, where we can bathe and spend a moment of relaxation.

13:00 H.

Lunch in Chiguata

We will return to Chiguata for lunch and then we will start our return trip to the city of Arequipa.

16:00 H.

Arrival to Arequipa city

Finally, we will arrive to the center of Arequipa at the Plaza de Armas (in case of private service at the door of your hotel).
